Fusion Architecture
Fusion Architecture sounds trendy and is sometimes hard to define; however, when done well it is a lasting design that reflects the personality and style of the inhabitants. It is essentially the blending of two clearly defined styles. Unlike eclectic design which blends multiple styles into a single design sense, Fusion architecture design is based on two design styles which create a primary and secondary emphasis within the overall design. The primary style is emphasized in the larger more dominant elements. The secondary style is emphasized in the accent elements which are usually smaller in scale and stronger in appearance. It’s a design direction that can merge existing furnishings with a new style, merge a couple’s different styles into one, or provide an architectural backdrop for an accent on an unusual and diverse design ascetic. If you stay true to the definition, two design styles fused into one, Fusion Architecture can be a very interesting option with the potential for a very powerful result.
